Launch of WHO/Europe´s first-ever mobile app on primary health care for children and adolescents: digitalized, evidence-based guidance at healht professionals´ fingertips on the "Pocket book of primary health care for children and adolescents"
Primary health care plays a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of communities, especially children and adolescents. However, disparities in the quality and extent of services provided across the European Region often lead to perceptions of sub-standard care, prompting some to seek hospital-based services instead. Addressing this gap, the Pocket Book of Primary Health Care for Children and Adolescents, launched two years ago, offers vital guidance for primary health care providers.
This comprehensive resource not only sets standards for service provision but also equips doctors, nurses, and other professionals with the latest protocols for managing common conditions in young patients. Now, complementing this initiative, the World Health Organization (WHO) introduces a groundbreaking digital solution—an iOS and Android app. This innovative tool not only mirrors the content of the Pocket Book but also integrates practical features such as a drug calculator and growth chart plotter. By digitalizing this sought-after resource, WHO aims to enhance the delivery of primary health care services for children and adolescents throughout the region, empowering healthcare professionals with accessible and efficient tools for better patient care.
The event will take place online on April 29th (Monday) from 14:00 to 15:30 (UTC +3).
